Delhi is not safe for men
How I wish the title meant what it seems to mean. But I need not confess, its a cheap trick to arouse interest in what is to follow.
And would you have still been reading had the title been my-rant-on-losing-my-laptop?
This was the first time I became a victim of any sort of crime.
The first thing that you realize when your laptop gets stolen is that what all data did you lose. A mental scan is carried out C drive, D drive, E drive. In my case, I did not lose much because of my habit of creating online back ups of everyhting I can. But still, the pain is not alleviated.
The monetary loss is no small either. The internship stipend is still nowhere in sight and the cash outflow is rising faster than the mercury in Delhi.
congratulations
. You needed a new one any ways !!

i can relate to d trauma u r going through coz my laptop was stolen too in dec last year in ghaziabad.
i had left d laptop in my car & had gone for some errand only to come back & find d car glass broken & d laptop missing.
d cops were round d corner but were helpless.
but soon i realised i wasn’t alone. dere was another person too to lodge fir at d police station dat day & the next day too dere were two uder ppl whose laptop were stolen.
all my data was lost n i had to start from scratch so nw i always make a point to make online backup.
thankfully my laptop was insured.
nw i always make it a point never to leave d laptop in d car. i always carry it wherever i go.

@ Jo,
Thanks my foot!
The bulk deal took three months to get delivered last year and I am expecting the present council to better that.

@ Anuj,
Have some fellow interns in the company from Ghaziabad and the crime stories of the place would ensure I never leave my lappy in the car there.
Better still, not to take it there at all.
